Solar Panels work well on any roof facing South, SE or SW. Although your Solar Panels will perform better and produce more electricity if they are South facing, they will still perform at 86% (compared to South facing) either facing due East or West. If your only option is to face North they will most likely only produce a useable amount of electricity in the peak summer months.
Solar Panels can be fitted to your roof or on your land. Generally a 6-panel Solar PV system would be one of the smallest we would recommend and this could easily fit on the roof of an average 3-bed semi. Our popular SunPower panels generate the most energy per m2 so you can still get plenty of electricity from a smaller roof.
Solar panels require little maintenance, but our team provides regular checkups to ensure your system is running at maximum efficiency. We also offer repairs if needed. Mainly it's programming that may be required throughout the year.
There are ways we can achieve this to a degree, the easiest way is to have a couple of sockets that would remain powered in the event of a power cut. If this is a feature you require we could discuss some options.
Solar PV systems have no moving parts apart from the inverter and as such have very long life spans. The inverter should last for over 10 years and may cost up to £1,000 to replace, however you can buy an extended 20 year warranty for as little as £300. You should expect the panels to last for roughly 25 years.
If you want to be paid for any the excess electricity you generate you will need to have a smart meter. Most electricity suppliers are installing them free of charge for their customers if you don’t already have one.
In most cases, no. Domestic solar panel installations are considered ‘permitted developments’ and don’t require planning permission unless:
Most systems come with an app which allows you to monitor the performance of your system 24/7. Either way we'll make sure you're fully trained up and understand your system before we leave, and even then our phones are always on.
Don't worry we'll complete any paperwork that needs completing including notifying your supplier of your installation.
We'll also provide you will full certification and warranties.
